even though made out of plastic, it is such a beautiful sculpture. actually original model was made by a Japanease sculpter, Tsutomu Suzuki.
it has light-activated sensor on their chest and a microchip of real bird sounds obtained from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology so the chirping sound you hear is an actual live recording of each particular type of bird.

simply place the bird on the solar power unit to charge, then remove it and place it anywhere you like. Move the switch to the "on" position and you will be greeted by the happy chirps and eager tail movenents.
